TOWNSVILLE cyclist Ruth Corset has tasted success with New Zealand's Jazz Apple team competing in the US. Team member and co-director Susy Pryde said Corset, a newcomer to Jazz Apple team this year, scored a win in the season's second race in San Jose, California, last weekend. "Corset won the prestigious Mt Hamilton road race," Pryde said. "The (35km) course always calls for the best climbing legs you can muster." Corset took the Queen of the Mountain title by 90 seconds. The Jazz Apple team will race in the US and Canada for three months and includes a combination of established and developing NZ riders as well as Corset and another Australian rider, Belinda Goss. |

We have received a text from Ruth ... I came 29th overall. Came 28th in Time Trial in front bunch for stage 2 and 17th in front bunch in stage 2. Very happy with results. 99 in race. Few crashes which I avaoided. Very nervous racing with people suddenly braking and pushing and shoving. World Cup sun. Ruth |
